HERTS TOUR 2004

A most enjoyable day, despite the weather doing its best to ruin things, but this just added to the fun as the roads became awash with water.we lost Austen somewhere on the A602 though')

The roads chosen were a really great asusual Russ and Alec did a brilliant job with the route directions as I failed to get lost once and had the drive of my life. I was pleasantly surprised by the number of minis on the tour and the Hemel pub car park looked quite impressive at the halfway stage, the bar staff came out to look at all the cars - it's always nice to have your mini admired despite the fact most of them were filthy by this point ! It is very satisfying to see our members enjoying themselves using their mini’s for what they are designed for. Cars are meant to be driven. This is what makes all the hard work sorting out the routes worth while.(Alec)

The roads were very wet, whilst there were no fords to drive through, there were plenty of big puddles. It was easy to make the back end of the mini slide. Thank god my brakes are o.k.(David H)
